In 2019, visionary brothers Jonathan and Abraham Fish embarked on an ambitious journey to transform an industrial warehouse area into a groundbreaking destination that would blend art and culture in a way that would captivate the world. Fast forward four years, and their dream has blossomed into reality with the grand opening of the Thrive Art District. This vibrant 5.3-acre haven will revolutionize how we experience art and community.
This dynamic new district is not just a place; it’s a thriving ecosystem of creativity featuring artist studios, eclectic storefronts, and mouthwatering restaurants. Thrive will host a kaleidoscope of events, from art shows and workshops to electrifying concerts, making it the heartbeat of Fort Lauderdale's cultural scene.
When I relocated to Fort Lauderdale in 2020, I envisioned myself in a studio space in Flagler Village, drawn by its cool city vibe and the allure of walking to work. So, when I stumbled upon an ad for studio rentals last weekend, I couldn’t resist! Just look at this stunning place! The potential for growth here is immense—not just for me but for the entire community.
I attended my first Art Walk and was blown away by the incredible properties. While attendance was a bit on the lower side (hey, it’s still new!), I do not doubt that the Fish brothers’ vision will attract crowds. The art scene is just beginning to flourish, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it!
Now, my studio is nestled within a collective, tucked behind beautiful galleries, trendy shops, and lively breweries. You’ll find me and a group of passionate artists in our gritty, urban workspace out back—exactly the vibe I hoped for! I’ve snapped a few pictures to share the magic with you.
